The modern Cross Stitch Revolution

Been a while since I updated and I can't do it justice now - I'm currently on holidays - which included leaving my laptop and patterns at home!!!

I'll be back in a couple of days and will hopefully update all then - there will be a few to update, I had a bit of an orgy of pattern finishing before my holiday and I have forgotten how far behind I have left livejournal.

I have a feeling the last time I tried to update I had so many problems that I gave up, which might mean that there is a bulk upload to do. there are a few more lolitas - I know I finished the set (so both male Lolitas- dandy and Kodono, plus another two wa and qi...), there's another Steampunk and at least two pinups - Asian Corset and Blue Dreddies.

All sounds very interesting, I have a feeling there's another as well, but can't remember what it is!

Until the update...

2009 Continued...
Tea Party Revolution
[info]teap_revolution
I have been very remiss. It's two months into 2009 and I have only updated once... There's a few more patterns that have been cluttering up my program then finding their way out as completed.

So, I'll update in one chunk.... There's a lot here, so hopefully you won't get too overwhelmed.

Lots of things in here... )

2008 in Review

A lot of good things have happened in 2008... I set up Etsy, have sold patterns and have been updating like crazy on the pattern front. As a review, here are the patterns I know I've completed in 2008:

And it's time to update! (everything here is available on my Etsy site, of course - but feel free to contact me and get it that way!)

So I'll just preclude this a little. My friend [info]lillykitten  has been going a little crazy with images over the last couple of weeks for a couple of reasons. One: Christmas. Lilly has spilt her art into three (roughly), pinups, Lolita fashion and Steampunk fashion. Therefore each theme she draws has to come in threes to fit into each of these categories. Therefore, a lot of things I convert into designs will also be in threes... Two: It was Lilly's birthday last week, and she celebrated by drawing three different birthday images!

I have made seven designs since I last updated with the Christmas Snow Leopard, so here we go, for your delight...

There are two things to share we those of you who visit my little journal...

One: Tea Party Revolution designs are now available on Etsy! This is fantastic, having my designs available to a larger audience on a nice big site like Etsy. All of my finished designs are available through Etsy and it is all very exicting. You can find my etsy shop here: Tea Party Revolution

And also, number two!

I have a new pattern, just in time for Christmas!

I really need to update more often. I have been trying to sell some of my patterns along with my designing artistic friend [info]lillykitten , pretty much sharing her stall with her. I have had a lot of positive feedback as well as selling a number of the patterns to different people, which has been very encouraging. While I have been there it has made it easy to work on some of my sample stitching and I have been doing a lot of work on Punk Ribbon as well as starting Cancer and Sagittarius.

Over the last couple of weeks though, this has changed. I was asked to complete a comission piece - both pattern and complete stitch for a lady. It made it a hectic couple of weeks as the pattern wasn't one of the ones I had already completed, but rather a completely new one. [info]lillykitten had to send me the image, then I had to change it so that I could get it ready. I have started it, but have yet to take any major photos of my progress, which I will do. I have until December to finish it, so most of my work is centred around that.

On the pattern front, I have almost completed a number of patterns - the larger companion piece to the Dreadlocks Bookmark, Blue Dreadlocks is almost finished and I am working on a number of Christmas designs - White Christmas, the Christmas Fairy, a Christmas Snow Leopard. I am also anticipating that there will be a few more Christmas designs courtesy of  [info]lillykitten and a few more for Halloween other than just my darling Deva.

Other than that it is fairly difficult to keep up with all my stitching stuff and do a good job at work - I'm now working full time a decent distance from home, which makes a long travelling time. I also can't really leave work at work, as much as I try, people who say my job is easy because of the supposed working hours and the holiday time are kidding themselves. But I will do my best to keep updating frequently and finishing as many of my patterns as I can.

I have also been looking into a website for my patterns, but it is not very easy to do - and I'm not sure if I have the money to hire web designers and such. If you see something you'd like to stitch, feel free to message me about it. My patterns will eventually be available through [info]lillykitten 's website once it's up at www.lillykitten.com once it's completely up and running. I am also planning on putting my patterns on the Needlework Show next time it shows - when I have enough patterns stitched to give a good showing!

And I think that's about it!

It's been a while...
Tea Party Revolution
[info]teap_revolution
Possibly because I was finishing up my final year at university, finding my first full time job and starting work... and I was doing a bit of pattern making at the same time... and a bit of sample stitching. So, I thought as I had a few minutes to myself tonight, that I might do a bit of updating.

I have sent out the four sample sets that I received the contracts for, so hopefully all the girls are happily stitching with what they received. I didn't hear from everyone, but that's ok. Anyway, here we go then...

Now it's time for a mass update!
Tea Party Revolution
[info]teap_revolution
I've been doing a lot of work on some of the more simple designs - so here are a whole heap I have just finished, and all the patterns of each Tiger and Nun from the Be different sets... Enjoy!

It's time for that magical time... the updating! I have three new patterns (those which hadn't been previously uploaded) and I have been updating the "In Production" Gallery, so feel free to have a look in there at those which are coming.

Time for the updating... No much on the pattern front, but I will show you anyway, cause it's fun!

As for the sample stitching well...

Sample Stitching continued.

And here we are again! I have tentatively started allocating patterns to people, you'll get at least what you asked for first, after that I can't promise, all depends on what happens. That means my list of patterns still needing to be stitched grows shorter. I'll be emailing around in a while just to tell you most of the details. I will post out the patterns then, and any aida that I want them done on... if you get one of those. Suggestions for background colours are always welcome.

NB: If you really want more than one, comment and I will take that into account.

Samples

Alright, here goes.

I have a number that I really need to have stitched first up. This may be a one in million chance, cause once the bulk of them are out of the way, it won't be so much trouble for me to sample stitch them myself... sounds scary, but there it is.

I am not sure how to go about payment. I had to ideas, one that you could keep what you stitched, on the proviso that the pattern is not passed on, on sold or anything like that. I can't have the patterns passed on, because they are to be sold later on. So regardless if you keep the finished sample or not, the patterns are ONE USE ONLY. Please respect me on this. The other choice is that I can sell the finished stitch and you can have a percentage of the profits - I would either sell the finished stitch on Etsy or through my friend ([info]lillykitten)'s market stall.

Some of them I would want to have very particular fabrics. There are a few that I have already, the rest I would either buy and send to you, or you can buy if you want to keep the stitch. Unfortunately I can't give kits, which is why I have offer two forms of restitution.

You can place dibs on patterns out of the current list that you want to stitch if you like - I don't mind that, especially if you want to keep the finished image. Unfortunately, at the moment you cannot place dibs on those which are officially "in Production", especially since I haven't finished those yet.

Most of the patterns are designed to be stitched on 22 count. If you've never worked with this count before, it's not that much smaller than 18. There are a few which call for larger counts - the simple ones are for 14 count (but they could get monotonous) and there is one which the original was stitched on 18 count, so the newer design also needs to be stitched on that.

So there we go. I have screened the comments on here, so that you can ask for dibs or just register your questions or comments. I hope it all works out properly...

I have decided to start up this journal to  hold all my patterns that I am designing, which I will move from my other account, which is :

[info]jorghes. I will still keep all of my stitching progress on samples and the like in there, as this is about the patterns - All finished images will come onto this journal as images of what the patterns are. For my first update, here is the latest set of patterns, fresh out of my program:

Look for more to come! Most of the patterns are in my scrapbook, so feel free to have a good look....

PS: Anyone interested in sample stitching, please comment!
